SUBACUTE UNIT
The Kindred Hospital Greensboro Subacute Unit consists of 23 beds which are dually certified Medicare/Medicaid. It is a specialized unit for patients requiring the use of a ventilator, or who are weaning from ventilator assistance. Our competent and caring staff provides a comfortable environment for those they care for, and our interdisciplinary care team is specialized in providing complex respiratory care.
Subacute services include:
- 24/7 respiratory therapist coverage
- advanced respiratory therapy care, including chronic ventilator management
- medication therapies, including IV antibiotics and peripheral and central line management
- wound care services, including negative pressure wound therapy
- short-term rehabilitation therapies

Four-Star Rating, September 2011
Kindred Hospital Greensboro Subacute Unit has been honored with a Four-Star rating in September 2011
from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). CMS created
the Five-Star Quality Rating System to help consumers, their families,
and caregivers compare subacute units more easily and to help identify areas
about which you may want to ask questions. The quality rating system
gives each nursing home a rating of between 1 and 5 stars. Subacute units
with 4 or 5 stars are considered to have “above average” quality.
